Skin Tag Removal
Skin Tag Removal by Plasma Fibroblast in Driffield
Precise, cosmetic removal with minimal downtime at The Aesthetics & Beauty Lounge
Smooth, snag-free skin—quickly and precisely
At The Aesthetics & Beauty Lounge in Driffield, we offer Plasma Fibroblast skin tag removal (often called “plasma pen”) for safe, precise cosmetic removal of common skin tags almost anywhere on the face and body. Using a tiny plasma arc at the skin’s surface, we desiccate the tag at its base to detach it cleanly while stimulating a little collagen renewal in the surrounding skin—no scalpels, no stitches, and minimal downtime.
We remove benign skin tags only. Lesions that look suspicious (changes in colour, shape, bleeding without trauma, rapid growth) are not treated and will be signposted to your GP/dermatology.
How Plasma Fibroblast removal works
-
A handheld device ionises the air just above the skin to create a micro plasma arc.
-
The arc cauterises and dehydrates the skin tag (and stalk) with pinpoint accuracy, sealing tiny vessels and reducing bleeding.
-
The tag typically darkens and crusts, then detaches as the micro-scab lifts during healing.
-
The surrounding skin begins a controlled healing response, supporting smoother texture over the following weeks.
Session time: usually 10–30 minutes depending on number/size of tags.
Sessions needed: most tags are removed in one session. Clusters or larger tags may need a second tidy-up after 6–8 weeks.
Healing: micro-crusts shed in 5–10 days (body areas can be a little longer). Pinkness can persist 2–8 weeks as skin tone normalises.

What to expect
Before
-
Consultation & skin check to confirm the lesion is a typical benign skin tag.
-
Photos for your confidential record.
-
Avoid tanning/sunbeds and active skincare acids/retinoids on the area for 5–7 days.
-
Tell us if you’re on anticoagulants, have diabetes, keloid tendency, or cold sore history (for perioral tags).
During
-
The area is cleansed and, where appropriate, numbed (topical anaesthetic).
-
We apply tiny, controlled plasma dots to the tag/stalk until it is fully treated.
-
You’ll feel brief warmth/tingling; most clients find it very tolerable.
After
-
Expect a small brown micro-scab where the tag was; do not pick.
-
Mild redness/tenderness can occur for 24–72 hours.
-
You can usually return to normal activities immediately (avoid friction, heavy sweating, and make-up on the site for 48–72 hours).
-
SPF 50 daily over exposed areas for 8+ weeks to minimise pigment changes.
Benefits
-
Quick, precise cosmetic removal—often in one visit
-
No stitches and minimal bleeding
-
Suitable for many face & body sites
-
Short downtime; small crusts shed naturally
-
Helps improve skin texture around the site over time
Considerations & possible side effects
-
Temporary: redness, tenderness, small micro-crust (5–10 days), mild swelling (esp. eyelids)
-
Pigment changes: transient post-inflammatory hyper/hypopigmentation—risk is higher on darker skin tones; strict SPF is essential
-
Tiny marks/scars are uncommon but possible, particularly if crusts are picked or after sun exposure too soon
-
Infection risk is low with correct aftercare; we’ll provide written guidance
-
Recurrence: rare if the stalk/base is fully treated; new tags can form elsewhere over time
-
Not suitable over suspicious lesions, active infection/inflammation, recent isotretinoin, or for clients who cannot comply with aftercare
Who is a good candidate?
Anyone with clearly benign, pedunculated skin tags who wants swift cosmetic removal and can follow simple aftercare (keep clean/dry, no picking, SPF). We’ll advise alternatives if you’re high-risk for pigmentation changes or scarring.
FAQs
1) Will the skin tag fall off straight away?
Often the tag shrivels and crusts during treatment. It may detach the same day or over 5–10 days as the micro-scab lifts—both are normal.
2) Will it leave a scar?
Most sites heal to a flat pink mark that blends over 2–8 weeks. A tiny residual mark is possible. Not picking and using SPF 50 greatly improves the cosmetic outcome.
3) Does it hurt?
Discomfort is minimal. We usually use topical anaesthetic, and the sensation is brief heat/tingling at each point.
4) Can you treat near my eyes or in the groin?
Yes—with care. We regularly treat eyelids (away from lashes) and groin/inner thigh tags. We’ll confirm suitability and aftercare to reduce friction/irritation.
5) Will the tag come back?
The treated tag shouldn’t return if its base is fully cauterised. However, new tags can form in predisposed areas due to friction, hormones or genetics.
6) How much does it cost—what if I have several?
Pricing depends on size, number and location. We offer single-tag and multi-tag packages and will quote at consultation.
