HIFU Treatments in Driffield

Non-surgical skin tightening & lifting at The Aesthetics & Beauty Lounge

Lift, Firm & Define—Without Surgery

At The Aesthetics & Beauty Lounge in Driffield, we offer advanced HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) for face, neck and body. HIFU delivers precise ultrasound energy beneath the skin to tighten, lift and stimulate new collagen, giving a firmer, more sculpted look with little to no downtime. Perfect for mild–moderate laxity, soft jowls, crepey skin and areas that need definition.

How HIFU Works

HIFU focuses ultrasound energy at specific depths (typically 1.5 mm, 3.0 mm and 4.5 mm) to create thermal coagulation points in the dermis and SMAS (the same layer lifted in surgical facelifts). This controlled heat kick-starts neocollagenesis and elastin remodelling for a natural lift.

  • Session time: Face/neck 45–90 mins; body 30–120 mins (area-dependent)

  • Onset: Some immediate “tight” feeling; visible changes build from 4–12 weeks

  • Peak results: 12+ weeks, with continued improvement up to 6 months

  • Longevity: Typically 12–18 months (maintenance plans available)

  • Course: Many clients need 1 session for mild laxity; 2–3 sessions for moderate laxity (spaced 8–12 weeks)

Treatment Areas We Can Target

Face & Neck (Lifting/Tightening)

  • Brow & forehead lift (opens the eye area)

  • Periorbital crow’s feet (treated around—not on—the eyelid)

  • Cheeks & midface (improves flattening, softens nasolabial area)

  • Lower face & jowls (jawline sharpening)

  • Double chin / submental definition

  • Neck (horizontal lines, crepiness)

  • Décolletage (chest crepiness)

Body (Firming/Texture & Mild Contour Refinement)

  • Upper arms (triceps/“bingo wings”)

  • Bra/axillary roll

  • Abdomen (skin tightening post-weight change/pregnancy)

  • Flanks & waist

  • Hips/outer & inner thighs (skin quality, firmness)

  • Knees (above the knee crepiness)

  • Buttocks & banana roll (subtle lift, skin tightening)

HIFU is ideal for skin laxity and definition; it offers modest contouring in suitable candidates but is not a weight-loss treatment.

What to Expect

Before Your Treatment

  • Consultation & assessment: medical history, goals, photos for progress tracking

  • Plan: areas, energy levels, session number, and pricing

  • Prep: arrive hydrated; we may suggest simple analgesia (e.g., paracetamol) if you’re sensitive

During Treatment

  • Skin cleanse, grid mapping & ultrasound gel

  • Focused ultrasound passes at one or more depths

  • Sensations range from warmth/prickling to a deep ache over bony or fibrous areas—brief and manageable

After Treatment

  • No true downtime; mild redness or puffiness can last a few hours–days

  • Tenderness to touch or tingling may persist for 1–2 weeks in some areas

  • Avoid very hot environments, vigorous exercise and facial massage for 24–48 hours

  • Normal skincare may resume the same day (we’ll tailor advice)

Key Benefits

  • Non-surgical lift with natural collagen rebuilding

  • Tightens & defines the brow, jawline, neck and more

  • Little to no downtime—back to routine quickly

  • Safe for all skin tones (targets tissue, not pigment)

  • Pairs well with skin boosters, peels or microneedling (timed appropriately)

Considerations & Possible Side Effects

  • Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, tingling, mild bruising

  • Temporary “zingers” (nerve-like twinges) or numb patches that resolve

  • Rare: blistering/burns, prolonged nerve irritation or temporary weakness in treated zones—minimised by correct mapping and technique

  • Results are gradual (best at 12+ weeks) and vary by skin quality, age and lifestyle

Not suitable if: pregnant/breastfeeding; active skin infection, open wounds or severe acne in the area; recent dermal filler directly over the intended treatment zone; metal implants or electronic devices in the treatment field; bleeding disorders; unrealistic expectations. We’ll confirm candidacy at consultation.

Who Sees the Best Results?

Those with mild to moderate laxity, decent skin quality and stable weight who want subtle, natural lift and firmness—not a dramatic, surgical effect. If skin is very lax or heavily sun-damaged, we may recommend a combination plan (e.g., HIFU + RF microneedling/skin boosters) or set expectations accordingly.

FAQs

1) How many HIFU sessions will I need?
Many clients see good results with one session; moderate laxity may need 2–3 sessions spaced 8–12 weeks apart, with annual maintenance.

2) When will I see results and how long do they last?
Expect a gradual lift from 4–12 weeks, with peak at 12+ weeks. Results typically last 12–18 months.

3) Does HIFU hurt?
You’ll feel brief heat/ache/tingling, stronger over bony areas. Most tolerate it well; we can adapt our approach for comfort.

4) Can I have HIFU if I’ve had fillers or anti-wrinkle injections?
Yes—timing matters. We often do HIFU first, then injectables 2–4+ weeks later; or, if you already have filler, we’ll avoid those zones or delay HIFU to protect your results.

5) Is there downtime?
No significant downtime. Mild redness/swelling/tenderness can occur and usually settles quickly.

6) Is HIFU safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. HIFU targets deeper tissue layers and doesn’t rely on melanin, so it’s suitable across all skin tones.
